Intermediate Membership is for planners who are competent in their field with at least two years of work experience, currently working in the planning industry and have studied an accredited degree.
Intermediate members are required to undertake a minimum of 20 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) per annum to maintain their membership status. See the Professional Development page for more information on CPD requirements.
Intermediate Members will have six years from the start of Graduate Membership to apply for Full Membership of the Institute, an extension to this can be granted in special circumstances. Intermediate Members who do not transition to Full Membership within the timeframe will be transferred to the Associate Category.
Intermediate members use the designation Int.NZPI.

The annual membership fee is $485 (inc. gst)
Payment is not required at the time of application, an invoice will be sent if your application is approved. Our financial year is from January to December. Those who join during the year will be invoiced on a pro-rata basis (covering from the month joined to December).
An annual invoice will be sent out in mid-January.
The NZPI Constitution is the Foundation Document of NZPI and Provides the Governance Framework for all NZPI Activities.
The Constitution is supplemented by the NZPI Regulations. Both documents are current and have been the subject of review and amendments in the past 12 months.
