This workshop is focused on establishing the foundations for environmental compliance so that compliance officers understand the context they are working in and the value they add.



Participants will come away feeling empowered, engaged and motivated and equipped with tools to help them in their everyday compliance work.


Learning outcomes:

  • Why we monitor resource consents and an understanding of the broader resource management context
  • How to read and interpret resource consent reports, decision and conditions
  • Understanding of the tools in the enforcement toolbox
  • Tools to help guide every day decisions made by compliance officer


Presenter:

Amanda de Jong

Amanda is a Strategic Environmental Consultant and Director of Brighta Consulting Ltd. Amanda has a comprehensive background in resource management compliance, consenting and policy development with 15 years’ experience working in local government in both NZ and the UK. Amanda has previously held leadership positions in the compliance and consenting departments at Auckland Council.
