The intention of this workshop is to provide non-planners with an understanding of the roles and functions in planning system and gain an understanding of what the planning system is seeking to achieve.
It is especially designed for people from a non-planning background that would like to gain a better understanding of how the planning system actually works in practice in New Zealand. It will explain the role of plans (Regional, Unitary and District Plans), plan changes, resource consents within the development process and will demystify the planning jargon so non-planners can actively engage in the planning system.
Aimed it staff in both the public and private practice firms and NGO who work with planners and would like to gain a better understanding of how the system works.
