NZPIC24 Keynote speaker Joan Ko’s presentation drew heavily on an unpublished Arup report on adapting infrastructure in Victoria Australia to climate change. This report has now been published.

Joan would like to share with NZPI members a link to “some really fantastic work by Amelia Tomkins and team, which sets out how to build a business case for resilience.”

The report found that most of Victoria’s infrastructure was not built for more frequent and severe weather. This means infrastructure, such as roads and powerlines, is exposed to greater damage to wild storms, bushfires and floods.

The report has now been published and can be found HERE

Joan’s presentation at conference focused on extracting value from investment in resilience. She described how drawing on this research can help governments decide how and where to invest in adapting infrastructure.
