Te Kokiringa Taumata | New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI), welcomes the opportunity to present this submission on the Resource Management (Freshwater and Other Matters) Amendment Bill. NZPI advocates for a long-term, strategic approach to reform of the Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA). This Bill represents a collection of discrete changes to the RMA, which are made in the context for further amendments to come, followed by full replacement of the RMA, and alongside a programme to review national direction.
