About

We’re seeking a highly professional consultant to work as ‘Consultant Chief Advisor’ on our behalf, working inside and with the Ministry for the Environment.

This is a contract position, for a fixed term (until 23 September 2023), for 24 hours per week beginning August 2022. Appropriate remuneration will be negotiated.

NZPI has negotiated an outstanding opportunity for a senior technical leader to help practically guide the Resource Management reforms inside the Ministry for the Environment, working for NZPI.

The focus will be on helping to interpret and influence the Resource Management reforms, by providing insights into their practical application and implementation from a planner’s point of view.

Your involvement will be primarily with the Ministry for the Environment’s Reform Transition and Implementation workstream.

Your attributes:

  • You must demonstrate seniority and leadership at Chief Advisor/Technical Director level. Your expert advice is required by NZPI and will be valued by the Ministry for the Environment
  • Your ability to engage, your diplomacy and acumen are prerequisites to your meaningful contribution to the reform topics
  • Your capability in working with a new team, in new surroundings, crystalising issues and proposing solutions will be renowned.
  • Full member of NZPI

Your skills will include experience of private practice, public service, policy and academic perspectives on the RM reforms
