At the end of last week NZPI lodged two submissions, one on the Resource Management (Extended Duration of Coastal Permits for Marine Farms) Amendment Bill and one to the Finance and Expenditure Committee Inquiry into Climate Adaptation.

Those members who attended last week’s webinar on RMA amendments will appreciate that NZPI’s submission on the bill to extend the duration of coastal permits for marine farms draws on technical input from members with experience working in this area. The submission on the Inquiry into Climate Adaptation builds on the significant work undertaken by the Institute in 2023 to provide a comprehensive submission to the Environment Committee’s inquiry. The Finance and Expenditure Committee has now taken over that inquiry, with a narrower scope, and we wanted to make sure they have a thorough understanding of the issues.
