The Government has stated it will introduce a new bill to parliament before March 8 on Fast Track Consenting. This will be a standalone bill with a focus on economic development and will be a ‘one-stop-shop’ for approvals under the RMA and other legislation. We are anticipating a new process with a different approach to what we are used to under the RMA, but we’ll have to wait and see what the bill actually says.
