This research examines how the assessment and management of cumulative effects takes place under the Resource Management Act 1991. This includes consideration of the nature of cumulative effects, strategies to manage such effects, and implementation of assessment and mitigation strategies at the national, regional, and local levels.



A Proposal of a Strategic Framework for Mixed-Tenure Housing Developments.
Presented by: Lily Lamble



This study seeks to contribute to the discussion of defining mixed-tenure housing and determining the factors that lead to its success. This is followed by the development of a strategic framework for mixed-tenure housing that policymakers and housing providers can utilise.



Community Engagement under The Threat of Climate Change Resettlement: A case study of the Upper Selwyn Huts, Canterbury, New Zealand

Adopting an exploratory approach, the research documents the current situation in relation to climate change impacts on the Upper Selwyn Huts, including the engagement process between the Selwyn District Council and the Upper Selwyn Huts’ residents, and whether there is a potential need for community resettlement. The findings highlight the need for empathy and long-term consistency in working with geographically vulnerable communities.



Youth Engagement in Long-Term Planning Processes

Critically examining youth engagement within long-term planning processes through the case studies of Christchurch and Marlborough. This study seeks to highlight the importance of youth in planning, the fundamental challenges for engagement and the possibilities for the future.
