Dave Little joined Christchurch City Council as Senior Planner of the Residential Red Zone in 2020, following a ten year stint as Manager of the Landscape Architecture team at Auckland Council. While in Auckland, he led the urban design and landscape inputs into the Waterview Connection which was consented via a Board of inquiry. Following approval, he moved to Auckland Council, managing the Parks asset acceptance process for the project through to its completion.

During this time at Council, he built the internal landscape architecture team up from four to nine, working with Parks, Transport, Healthy Waters and Panuku. Significant planning projects delivered during this period included Auckland’s Greenway network and Development Plans for Myers Park, Western Park and Western Springs. Construction projects included waterway restoration at Awakeri Wetlands, Freeland Reserve and D’Oyly Reserve, as well as significant playspaces at Kopupaka Reserve, Western Springs, Western Park and Potters Park.

Since joining CCC he has costed, phased and sought approval for a ten-year programme of works across the Ōtākaro Avon River Corridor, and is preparing procurement documentation to get this pipeline of work underway, allowing efficient delivery of the Regeneration Plan.
