Mike loves working with people to create great places and is a highly experienced practitioner who has worked across the globe on placemaking, strategic planning and urban regeneration projects. Prior to his current roles he established Riverside Market & Lanes in Christchurch with Riverside Ltd, was the Acting Manager of Future Communities at the City of Port Philip in Melbourne, and was the Manager of City Planning & Development and Placemaking Coordinator at the Adelaide City Council. Mike has qualifications in sustainable development from Imperial College London and planning from Massey University in New Zealand. He is currently the chair of Te Pūtahi - The Christchurch Centre for Architecture and City Making and also runs his consultancy UrbanTacticians as a side hustle.
