After graduating from Otago University with qualifications in geography and planning Charlotte took up a job with the Hawke's Bay Regional Council, where she worked within the policy, consents and land management teams during 12 years there. In 2017 she left to set up her own planning consultancy, View Consultants. In 2014 Charlotte commenced her doctoral study through Massey University which she has undertaken part-time while continuing to work, completing her study mid 2021.
