This webinar will provide an overview of the key issues and options for a system for climate adaptation planning.
The Environment Committee opened an Inquiry into climate adaptation on 25 August, with submissions closing on 1 November 2023. NZPI will make a submission to the Inquiry, and we intend to run a survey to gather the opinions, thoughts and experiences of our members on this important topic. This survey will be open Friday 15 September and close midnight Friday 29 September.
The webinar will provide background for those who intend to participate in the survey and/or prepare submissions to the Inquiry. It will provide an overview of MfE’s Issues and Options Paper and the report of the Expert Working Group on Managed Retreat. Sam Parsons, Climate Change Specialist at Boffa Miskell, and Emily Grace, NZPI’s Principal Policy Advisor, will run the webinar. We’ll leave time for questions at the end.
