The Ministry for the Environment has been consulting on “how to ensure a resilient, sustainable future for the land and all New Zealanders”, to inform its Long-term Insights Briefing to Parliament (a requirement under the new Public Service Act 2020). The purpose of long-term insights briefings is to identify and explore long-term issues that may affect New Zealand and its society. This is the first Briefing that MfE has prepared. NZPI lodged a submission on the draft Briefing on 18 October 2022.
